Community Service Projects

The Fiesta Grande Quilters participates in several community service projects:

  • Adopt a Family--Fiesta Grande adopts families for the Christmas season from the Maricopa Salvation Army.  The quilters make quilts to be given to each of the children in the families.
  • Quilts for Kids--Quilts are made by the members to be given to the pediatric ward of the Banner Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
  • Quilts for Seniors--This project was started in 2014-15.  These quilts will be made and donated to a long-term care facility in the Casa Grande area.
  • Youth Haven--A year-round camp for disadvantaged children.  Toiletry bags are delivered to Youth Haven as well as a supply of toiletry items  These are given to kids attending the camps.

Opportunity Quilt

Each year an opportunity quilt is made by members of the Fiesta Grande Quilters and a drawing for the winner of the quilt is held the Wednesday after the annual Quilt Show.  The pattern and material are selected by the Opportunity Quilt Committee and prepared prior to the beginning of the season.  Several members participate in the construction of the quilt and it is the largest fund raiser the club sponsors.  Funds raised from the sale of tickets are used for material and supplies to support the Community Service Projects.
